The adjunct faculty who are professionals (fire protection engineers, fire marshals, fire chiefs, and federal and state investigators) from the areas of public and private sector are selected to best serve our students and the strategic directions of the Fire Science Department. Each adjunct faculty teaches in an area where they are recognized as a subject matter expert. The program benefits from the experiences of many adjunct professors who are currently active in the fire service. By staying connected to the fire service, they maintain contact with the fire fighters who are utilizing the latest in modern fire safety and engineering technology every day. In addition they are active in numerous professional organizations including: the National Association of Fire Investigators, International Association of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
