Digital Art and Design
| Assistant Chair: Todd Jokl, MFA | |
| Digital Art and Design is the use of computers for the integration of graphics, animation, video, music, speech, and computer generated graphics. Active markets for Digital Art and Design include (1) the Internet, where careers in web page creation, portable device content, digital design, and website management have grown exponentially in recent years; (2) business, where computer presentations have taken the place of slide shows; (3) education, where teachers are finding new ways to deliver materials; and (4) the entertainment industry, with the ever-growing use of computers for special effects in games, music videos, and films. |
|
| Digital Art and Design studies will enable graduates from diverse programs in visual arts, music, education, business, and many other disciplines to use the computer to generate traditional print materials but also to design interactive programs for use in websites, DVDs, presentations, 3D modeled animations and educational software. |

The Digital Art and Design courses have been designed to allow students to use computer, audio, video, and graphic technologies to conceptualize and implement digital designs, artwork, and interactive interfaces in a comprehensive approach that includes multimedia production and aesthetic design.
