Introduction
The environmental science program at the University of New Haven is an interdisciplinary program offered by the College of Arts and Sciences.The bachelor’s degree provides undergraduate students with a strong foundation in biological and earth sciences, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, followed by a variety of advanced courses in geoscience, environmental science, and related disciplines.
Unique Features
- Many courses include field study and extensive hands-on work at a variety of sites, including our salt marsh property along Long Island Sound; at inland wetlands, lakes, and streams; in forest systems; in the White Mountains of New Hampshire; and at the Gerace Research Center on San Salvador Island, Bahamas.
- The program is complemented by a full geographical information systems (GIS)/computer laboratory.
- Students have opportunities to work with faculty on a variety of grant-funded research projects.
