Student teaching is a supervised, thirteen-week clinical field experience which follows the successful completion of graduate coursework and culminates a candidate's Connecticut teaching certification program. Student teachers register and pay for six graduate credits in either the fall (August - December) or winter/spring (January - May) cycles.
Student teachers are placed by districts in cooperation with the university and work full-time under the direction of a state-trained cooperating teacher. Specific requirements for student teaching must accord with both State of Connecticut and UNH regulations. Application instructions and forms are posted here twice annually in September (for the following January) and February (for the following August).
