A contributor, NELMS monograph with an article, “Why Write in Math?”
Mr. Ciochine coordinates and supervises the Capstone and Mathematics programs. ED 601 Introduction to Education course ED 621E Teaching Strategies in Elementary Mathematics M 601 Math Ideas. Mr. Ciochine comes from a background in public education as a teacher and Curriculum Coordinator at the elementary and middle school settings in the areas of mathematics and technology. During his years in public education, he was a BEST Mentor-Cooperating Teacher and a BEST Seminar Leader for Elementary teachers as well as a workshop presenter in mathematics for PIMMS, NCTM, ATOMIC, and NELMS. He has served in various organizations over the years. Serving as Past Chair of the Connecticut Council of Leaders of Mathematics, Past Chair of the Celebration of Excellence program, CT Academy for Education in Mathematics and Science & Technology – Academy Fellow, Math Leadership Council – ACES, PIMMS, Council of Presidential Awardee in Mathematics, ATOMIC and NCTM. He has received honors as a Celebration of Excellence Awardee; Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and was a national awardee for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics. |
