Emergency management graduate students, in consultation with their instructor, have the opportunity to integrate the knowledge and skills they learned in the program in challenging research projects. In one project, students test their mettle by developing a hazard-specific emergency preparedness plan for their own or another organization. Their plan must include emergency management guidelines for the response phase and guidelines for either the mitigation or restoration phase of the organization.
