Other

Gwen has been in academia for 15 years and a practicing hygienist for 25 years. She has taught in a variety of clinical and public health settings.  She taught at both the associate and baccalaureate levels. She currently is the Junior level Clinic Coordinator and teaches Pharmacology and Pain Management, Local Anesthesia, and Advanced Dental Hygiene Concepts.

She has developed a course in accordance with the Connecticut Dental Hygiene Practice Act, to educate registered dental hygienists and University of New Haven students in the certification of Local Anesthesia.

She is a published author and has lectured for Professional Learning Services.  Gwen maintains affiliation with the American Dental Hygiene Association and has served as Treasurer and membership Chairperson for the Danbury Dental Hygienists’ Association. 

Gwen serves on various university committees and is the Faculty Advisor for the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha.  

She has been involved in many community activities with the New Haven Dental Society, including Dynamite Dental Day, Connecticut Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile Day.
