Prof. York is a licensed psychologist and a full-time professor at the University of New Haven. He has engaged in research in perceptual defense, nonverbal behavior, and the impact of HMO's on the delivery of mental health services. At present, he is working to complete a text, under contract to Allyan & Bacon, on psychotherapy and counseling. He also has practical experience as a clinician in the V.A. hospital systems, a director of a college counseling center and a practitioner in private practice. Many students have worked with him on his research and have appeared as co-authors on published papers and papers presented at professional meetings.
