Since that time Ms. Prajer has practiced in a variety of dental settings including periodontics, general dentistry, pedodontics, and incarceration facilities. In addition to her active clinical employment, Renee joined the distinguished UNH dental hygiene faculty in May 2000. Ms. Prajer brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in academia. Renee has taught in the discipline of dental hygiene for the past sixteen years. Throughout this experience, she has spanned clinical and didactic curriculum in all levels of dental hygiene education including Dental Radiology, Oral Anatomy, Embryology, Histology, Dental Hygiene Research, Dental Hygiene Senior Project, Dental Hygiene Internship and Advanced Dental Hygiene Concepts. Ms. Prajer is an enthusiastic educator who enjoys the utilization of technology in the classroom and initiating contemporary ideas into the dental hygiene curriculum. She is the National Board and North East Regional Board Coordinator for the program. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Renee has worked diligently seeking grant opportunities both on campus as well as with the Danbury Public Schools Oral Health Initiative. She assists the initiative with oral health needs assessments, subsequent grant writing and providing care to the underserved children in Danbury, CT. At the University of New Haven, Renee serves on the Senate Curriculum Committee, the UNH Student Conduct Board, the Departmental Scholarship Committee, Dental Hygiene Academic Standards Committee, Dental Hygiene Curriculum Committee, Dental Hygiene Faculty Search Committee and the Dental Hygiene Outcomes Assessment Committee. Renee is certified in the administration of local anesthesia in the State of Connecticut. She is a published author in the Journal of Dental Hygiene, Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and the Journal of Practical Hygiene. Ms. Prajer has presented at the local, state and national levels. She is a multiple recipient for inclusion of “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” and has been appointed for inclusion in “Who’s Who of Women in Education”.
