A registered dietitian, with over thirty-five years of diverse experience, her work has included teaching positions in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Kentucky and Hong Kong. She speaks Spanish fluently.

Her private practice concentrated on nutrition consulting to several Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, medical oncology centers, and  community health programs. She was the Coordinator for a $500,000 USDA grant to the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Her nutrition initiatives in the wellness programs of corporations were recognized with the C. Everett Koop Award two years in a row for excellence in health promotion and innovation in healthcare.
She was past President of the Connecticut Dietetic Association and was named Connecticut Dietitian of the Year.
