DH 214 Oral Facial Structures Other Prof. Mercer joined the department of Dental Hygiene at the University of New Haven in September 2001 with a wealth of work experiences. She started practicing dental hygiene in 1978. Since that time she has practiced in general, orthodontic, periodontal and prosthodontic dental practices and has also been employed in a hospital dental clinic. She started her teaching career in 1998 after serving in the U.S. Public Health Service. Her previous teaching assignments have included dental hygiene rotations in clinic, community health centers, public schools, nursing homes and hospitals. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is currently working with the Danbury Public Schools Oral Health Initiative. She has assisted this new program with an oral heath needs assessment and subsequent grant writing. The Danbury Public Schools Oral Health Initiative has received enough grant money to implement a school-linked oral health program. This program provides comprehensive dental care to the under served children in Danbury, CT. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
