Gwen has been in academia for 11 years. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene   She has taught in a variety of clinical and public health settings.  She has taught at both the associate and baccalaureate levels.  She currently is the Public Health Community coordinator and a consultant for West Haven Head Start.  Gwen teaches Public Health, Oral Medicine and Pharmacology and Pain Management.

She has developed a course in accordance with the Dental Hygiene Practice Act, to educate registered dental hygienists and University of New Haven dental hygiene students in the certification of Local Anesthesia.

She is a published author and lectures for Professional Learning Services.  Gwen maintains affiliation with the American Dental Hygiene Association and has served as Treasurer  and Membership Chairperson for the Danbury Dental Hygienists' Association for several years.
