Three teams of advisors and counselors work with Exploratory students right from the start:
Faculty Advisor: Your advisor will meet with you, get to know you, and work with you to explore ideas and course options. Working together, students become aware of how their interests and skills can be applied to a variety of disciples and often are surprised to find the program opportunities available to them. Your Advisor helps you choose courses that provide opportunities to explore subjects of interest while fulfilling core requirements for graduation.
The First Year Success Center (FYSC): FYSC is the main hub for first year student support. They help students learn about the many resources available to them at UNH and their experienced Success Coaches work with students to move forward with their educational, social, and personal goals. They offer informative workshops, talks, and other events for Exploratory students as well as connect students with faculty mentors.
Career Development Center (CDC): The CDC offers valuable support for students exploring ideas for their academic career as well as their career beyond college. A Career Advisor helps students identify their values, personality type, skills and interests, using the FOCUS career assessment system, in order to narrow potential majors. CDC offers individual appointments and group workshops to support students as they explore their major and career options.
