BALTIMORE -- Inside Lacrosse has named University of New Haven head coach Jen Fallon (photo) the Division II Coach of the Year, while junior Brigid Brady picked up her second All-America award with a Second Team honor from the publication.

Fallon was named the Division II Coach of the Year after leading the Chargers to the finest season in school history.  In her second year as head coach, Fallon helped UNH rise all the way to No. 8 in the Under Armour/IWLCA Division II National Coaches poll at one point this season.  The Chargers finished ninth in the final coaches' poll, and this was the first season the women's lacrosse team has ever been ranked nationally.

2008 was a season that saw the Chargers win a school-record 14 matches - doubling their previous best total for wins in a single season.  Two of UNH's three losses on the season came to teams included in the four-team NCAA Championship field.  The Chargers were universally recognized as one of the most improved teams in the nation, with a pair of All-America awards for Brigid Brady as well as All-North Region awards for Brady and Mallory and Ashley Ferrandiz.

Fallon was the East Coast Conference Coach of the Year as well.

This is the second Second Team All-America award for Brady, who was also picked by the IWLCA/US Lacrosse last week.

Brady was one of 32 student-athletes selected nationally as a Division II All-American by Inside Lacrosse.  Brigid had her third consecutive standout season at the attack position for the Chargers.  She tallied a team-high 53 goals in 2008, and added to her school records in both points and goals.  She scored multiple goals in 13 different matches and totaled 21 eight-meter goals.

In three seasons at UNH, Brady has now registered 189 points and 167 goals.  The Islip Terrace, New York native was also a First Team All-ECC pick this season.

Inside Lacrosse, the newest affiliate partner with ESPN.com, garners over 450,000 unique users each spring, and IL's print publication has won both the men's and women's lacrosse media awards twice each.  You can visit IL on the web at http://www.insidelacrosse.com.
