* 2008-2009 Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - The FAFSA is required of all applicants for financial aid and must be sent directly to the Federal Student Aid Program. You must list the University of New Haven as one of the schools entitled to receive this information and list our Title IV school code #, which is 001397. The FAFSA must be received at the Federal Student Aid Program by the stated deadline date. Students who applied for federal aid in 2007-2008 and received a "2008-2009 Renewal FAFSA" may complete the renewal application in place of a new FAFSA. Even though your renewal application may list "University of New Haven" you must put the Title IV school code #001397 on the application. Once your FAFSA is processed, the federal processing center will send you a "2008-2009 Student Aid Report" (SAR). You do NOT need to submit this report to us. As long as you listed the 001397 UNH code # on your application, we will receive your FAFSA information electronically from the processing center. If you previously completed the 2008-2009 FAFSA and have received your processed Student Aid Report from the federal processing center but did not authorize release to the University of New Haven, you can call us with the Data Release Number (DRN). We can use the DRN to draw down your application electronically from the federal processing center. Please note that you cannot submit the FAFSA until after January 1, 2008. **2007 Federal Income Tax Documentation-All undergraduate day students and their parents must submit a signed copy of their 2007 Federal Income Tax Return (1040,1040A or 1040EZ) including W-2 forms (W-2 forms are the wage statements you receive at the end of the year from your employer and file with your tax return) to the UNH Financial Aid Office. Schedules and individual state income tax returns are not required. Please be sure to put the student's name in the upper right-hand corner of each tax return. Faxed copies are acceptable. NOTE: Once you have completed your financial aid application and it is reviewed, additional forms and documents may be requested. If you receive financial assistance or scholarships (excluding student loans) from an outside source for the 2008-2009 academic year after you have submitted your UNH Financial Aid Application, you must notify the Financial Aid Office. Financial aid applications must be completed and loan applications certified prior to the last day of the term for which you are seeking aid. | ||
