| National Security Administration Certificate | |
| The School of Public Safety & Professional Studies at the University of New Haven offers a 12-credit graduate certificate in national security administration. The objectives of this graduate certificate are to enable students to 1) gain a working knowledge and awareness of the nature and concept of risk and risk management; 2) understand and apply the fundamentals of decision theory with emphasis on historically significant national security decisions; 3) acquire an understanding and appreciation for the way national security budgets are built, decided upon and implemented; and 4) test the application of proven, contemporary, private-sector management methods to the administration of our national security enterprise. | |

This certificate program prepares individuals for the responsibilities of protecting their agency or corporate information systems. The program includes the basics of information systems security as well as legal issues and cyber-response strategies. Computer gaming simulations as well as online attack and defense techniques are presented for student assignments. A selection of these certificate courses is offered online, with instruction delivered over the Internet. Appropriate computer competency is assumed as prerequisite to these courses. | |
