The Henry C. Lee Institute marks the state of Connecticut as a world leader in forensic science and public safety. The Institute specializes in interdisciplinary research, training, testing, consulting, and education in forensic science. The Institute's National Cold Case Center works exclusively with law enforcement agencies to provide assistance in resolving old homicide and serious assault cases.
As a Research Assistant for the National Cold Case Center, Jason Moore supervises two teams of forensic science graduate students who review cases with faculty and staff. In addition, he assists with various undergraduate courses in homeland security and criminal justice.
Prior to joining the Lee Institute, Mr. Moore worked for various companies, and he interned with the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security and the Conflict Securities Advisory Group of Washington, D.C. He has a master's degree in national security and public safety from the University of New Haven and a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from the University of Arizona.
The University of New Haven (UNH) is using technology from i2, Inc. in innovative ways both in and out of the classroom. Jason Moore will discuss how he uses Analyst's Notebook to review cold cases and to teach undergraduate students the importance of data collection and critical thinking. He also will disclose how researchers at UNH have used the software in their studies on terrorism and violent groups.
