To Our Prospecive Business Students,
This has been a tumultuous year for financial markets, organizations and individuals. Some prospective students have wondered about the value of pursuing a business degree in the current environment. In the College of Business, our response is a strong, positive and affirmative belief that business degrees, both undergraduate and graduate, provide students with an excellent combination of analytical, communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for a wide variety of endeavors. While many of our students do pursue opportunities in banking and finance, others take leadership roles in consulting organizations, government service, public administration, nonprofit management, education, marketing, information technology, accounting and a host of other areas for which a business degree is outstanding preparation for career success.
Over the decades since they were first introduced, business degrees have withstood the important test of time. They have returned value to business school graduates and the organizations and societies that they serve. Our students experience excellence throughout the educational process, including small classes taught by dedicated faculty who hold terminal degrees and/or appropriate licensure in their fields. Our unique Professional Enrichment Program , our living-learning community for undergraduates , our Student Enrichment Center , high technology classrooms and facilities , and a host of other specialized areas of focus and service make the experience here uncommon and tailored to individual student interests and goals. We are very proud of the business education that is provided at the University of New Haven's College of Business, particularly with its foundation of experiential education, the hallmark of the New Haven experience. Please join us for an upcoming Open House, for a tour, or for a session dedicated to what business education is all about at the University. We would enjoy meeting you for further discussion about how one of our business degrees makes sense for your future of leadership.
Sincerely,
Richard Highfield, Ph.D.
