Mission Statement

In keeping with the University of New Haven's mission to prepare our students to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in a global society, UNH strives to promote environmental awareness, stewardship and the sustainable development of our campus, community and world, and to combine academics, experiential education, and discovery-based learning to enable students to help solve one of the greatest global challenges of their future.  

What is Sustainability? 

Sustainability is about remaking the human presence in the natural world in a manner that will allow all current and future humans to be healthy; have strong, vibrant, secure and thriving communities and nations; have economic opportunity for all; and restore and maintain the integrity of our life-support system-the biosphere.
