A Visit to the Past, To Avoid a Similar Future
Article Body
As part of his Oskar Schindler Humanities class, Dr. Mario Gaboury and his students toured the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. Friday, Oct. 17. This is the second year Dr. Gaboury has been able to travel with his students to the museum, thanks to the generosity of University Board of Governors member Janice Sussman. Dr. Gaboury teaches the class as part of his work as the Oskar Schindler Endowed Professor at the University. Students in his class are now working with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven to transcribe testimony of Holocaust survivors as part of the Adopt-a-Survivor Program, along with performing other acts of community service during the semester.
