Dr. Mills has an outstanding record of scholarly achievements in research, teaching, and service activities. Dr. Mills scholarly research activities include:
- Authoring more than 35+ scholarly publications and presented more than 45+ research-based papers at professional forums. Serves as editorial board member of six research journals.
- Received seven prestigious research awards including three Emerald Management Review Citation of Excellence Award for practical implications and research readability.
- Co-editing the first research monograph series on online travel and consumer behavior published by Haworth Press.
- Co-directing the 10th Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Hospitality Research conference with more than 200 submissions and more than 450 attendees.
- Generating more than $1,466,281.00 in internal and external grant funding.
Dr. Mills is considered a dedicated instructor devoted to the advancement of students earning her the Bruce Lazarus Teaching Award at Purdue University. Highlights of Dr. Mills teaching activity include:
- Trained more than 1500 individuals over the past 19 years, nationally and internationally.
- Spearheaded course developments in e-business and information technology for hospitality and tourism college majors at the University of Delaware and Purdue University.
- Supervised or assisted in the supervision of graduate-level students in the completion of logical and clearly developed theses and dissertations at Purdue University.
Dr. Mills serves various department level, college and university wide committees at the University of New Haven. Highlights of Dr. Mills service activities include:
- Provided the impetus, vision, and leadership for research efforts with the American Federation for the Blind exploring visually-impaired consumer perception of the Web.
- Contributed integral knowledge and assistance in the design, development, and strategic action planning of diversity and multicultural exploration programs at Purdue University.
- Member of college and department level committees responsible for the streamlining, development, and enhancement of student learning experiences.
