State-of-the-Art Multiuse Laboratory
The new Industrial and System Engineering Laboratory is designed to meet optimal learning outcomes and to incorporate flexibility in room use. Prominent features include the fusion of lecture, learning, practice, collaboration, and computing zones, reconfigurability of desks and work tables to suit innovative learning practices, and the use of Smart Classroom technology. The Smart Classroom technology allows faculty to prepare diverse presentations, which include lecture notes, pictures, photographs, videos, internet material as well as perform laboratory equipment demonstration, all in the same lecture period and space.

uPRINT® 3D Printer
Innovative technology such as the rapid prototyping uPRINT® 3D Printer facilitates a truly hands on learning experience. The uPRINT® transforms the student’s ideas into functional 3D models that allow for collaboration and testing. The next generation of engineers can examine form, fit, and function from every angle through the use of stereo lithographic 3D layering. Students use Catalyst EX to optimize their CAD files for 3D printing.

NextEngine 3D Scanner Reverse engineering is brought to a whole new level when multiple optics arrays and dual three megapixel CMOS sensors pair with laser triangulation technology to capture models of 3D objects. Breakthrough electro-optical architecture and sophisticated new algorithms use an array of lasers to scan rotating 3D parts to create a clean surface output. This output can be quickly imported into SolidWorks as a mesh to produce functional parts.
