Commencement Day Schedule

Tickets are Required for Spring Commencement
  • Tickets and academic regalia (cap and gown) are available for pick-up at the Campus Store during regular store hours until Friday, May 17
  • Graduating students do not need a ticket
  • All guests, including children 2 years of age and older, will require a ticket for entrance to Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT
  • All additional tickets for the Commencement ceremonies have been distributed. Unfortunately, no more requests for additional tickets will be considered because we must adhere to the capacity rules set forth by Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre and the Wallingford Fire Marshal.

 

STUDENT LINE-UP
  • There will not be a student practice prior to Commencement on Sunday, May 19
  • Students participating in the Commencement ceremonies are asked to arrive early to check-in (by 9:00 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 2:00 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony) - Volunteers will be onsite to direct students to the appropriate check-in area
  • At check-in, participating students will receive a card with their name - this is the card that you will hand to the reader when you cross the stage to receive your diploma case. Students are asked to:
    • Check their name
    • Write a phonetic spelling (if needed)
    • Check their UNH and personal email addresses - this will be used by GradImages to send proofs of photos taken on Commencement day
  • Participating students are to line-up no later than 9:30 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 2:30 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony
    • Undergraduate students in both ceremonies will line-up by college, as indicated on your card. Students receiving double majors are to line-up with the college they selected when they completed the participation form. This is also the order in which students will be called to the stage.

    • Graduate students in the afternoon ceremony will line up en masse and will be hooded prior to entering the Theatre. Volunteers will be available at check-in to assist with hooding.

8:15 a.m. 
Doors to Oakdale Theatre will open for the morning ceremony

9:00 a.m.
All students participating in the morning ceremony are to arrive and check-in

9:30 a.m.
All students participating in the morning ceremony must be lined-up

9:45 a.m.
Procession to begin - All guests are asked to be in their seats and remain in their seats during the procession as the doors will be closed during the procession and will not be reopened until all students are in their seats

10:00 a.m.
Morning ceremony to begin

12:00 noon (approx.)
Morning ceremony to end

1:30 p.m.
Doors will open to Oakdale Theatre for the afternoon ceremony

2:00 p.m.
All students participating in the afternoon ceremony are to arrive and check-in

2:30 p.m.
All students participating in the afternoon ceremony must be lined-up

2:45 p.m.
Procession to begin - All guests are asked to be in their seats and remain in their seats during the procession as the doors will be closed during the procession and will not be reoponed until all the students are in their seats

3:00 p.m.
Afternoon ceremony to begin

General Information
  • Graduation memorabilia will be availabe at the University's Campus Store kiosk, located in the lobby of Oakdale Theatre
  • Flowers and t-shirts will also be available for sale and concessions will be available for purchase
  • Please show respect - We ask that all students participating in the Commencement ceremony and their guests remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony
  • Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the area
  • Please silence all electronic devices
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted
  • Beach balls, horns and other noise makers will not be permitted in Oakdale Theatre
