Tutoring and Advising

Academic Advising

To assist students in their academic development, the University assigns an academic adviser from the department of each student's chosen field of study. As soon and as often as possible, wise students seek the advice of their academic advisers regarding major requirements, career opportunities, choice of a minor, and progress in their major, as well as other areas of personal interest. At the time of registration, academic advisers assist with and approve course selection. Students also confer with their advisers when adding or dropping courses, and advisers often make referrals to other qualified personnel on campus. The academic adviser is, therefore, the link between the student and the academic regulations of the University.
